A tracker for nannies, grandparents and carers

The short answer

Invite the person looking after her with a six-character code, and choose what that code allows: logging entries, or viewing the day without changing it. A nanny usually wants the first, a grandparent often prefers the second.

From then on the handover happens as the day goes, not at the end of it. Entries appear on your phone within seconds, each one carrying the initial of whoever logged it, so you can see the 11am nap from your desk. Access can be removed at any time, and codes expire after seven days.

A shared log beats a handover note, because it is already written by the time you ask.

The shared history timeline, with the initial of whoever logged each entry
Every entry says who logged it — yours, your partner's, the nanny's.

Two kinds of invite

  • Can log. For a nanny or a co-parent: they log feeds, naps and diapers from their own phone, widgets and all.
  • Can view. For a grandparent or a babysitter you would rather did not edit the record: they see the day, they change nothing.

When the carer is not going to install an app

Some carers will text you instead, and that is fine. A sentence — “bottle 120ml at 2, nap 3 to 4.30” — can be typed straight into Ask and it becomes the entries, at the times they happened. Nothing about the day’s record has to be reconstructed from memory in the evening.

Handing something to a doctor or a daycare

The log exports as a spreadsheet at any time, and it also prints: a PDF of the entries themselves, a day at a time, and a check-up summary to take to an appointment. Removing a carer later takes their access with it — see how sharing works.

Questions people ask

Does the nanny need to pay for anything?
No. Someone who joins your family with an invite code is covered by your subscription, is never shown a paywall, and is never asked for payment details.
Can I stop someone seeing my baby's log?
Yes, remove them in Settings › Caregivers. Invite codes also expire on their own after seven days.
Can a carer log without an account?
Sharing needs an account on both sides, because the entries travel between phones. Signing in is Apple or an emailed code — no passwords.
