How to share baby tracking with your partner

The short answer

In Our Baby Day you share a baby, not an account. Open Settings › Caregivers, invite the other person, and they enter a six-character code on their own phone — which drops them straight into your baby’s timeline. Codes expire after seven days, and you choose whether each person can log entries or only view the day.

From then on it is one shared log. Every entry carries the initial of whoever made it, everyone’s widgets update within seconds, and one subscription covers the whole family rather than being charged per phone — whoever joins by code never meets a paywall of their own.

One code, both phones, one timeline — and nobody has to ask “did you feed her?” again.

The shared history timeline, with the initial of whoever logged each entry
One timeline, initialled. You can see at a glance which of you logged the 4am feed.

Setting it up

  1. Settings › Caregivers › Invite.
  2. Choose what they can do: log entries, or view the day without changing it. Grandparents and babysitters often want the second.
  3. Send them the six characters however you like. They install the app, enter the code, and they are in.

You can remove anyone later, and removing them takes their access with it.

What the other person sees

The same day you see: Today, the history timeline, the charts and the growth record. Their widgets and Live Activity work exactly like yours, so a partner on night duty can log from the Lock Screen without opening anything. If one of you is offline, that phone catches up on its own.

Who pays

One of you does, once. A single subscription covers the whole family, so the person who joins by invite code — a partner, a grandparent, a nanny — is covered by it and is never asked to buy anything or shown a paywall. There is no per-caregiver charge and no per-phone charge. It is $89.99 a year ($7.50 a month) with 7 days free for eligible new subscribers, or $14.99 a month with no trial.

Questions people ask

Do we both need an account?
Yes — sharing is the one thing that needs one, because the entries have to reach another phone. Sign in with Apple or an emailed code; there are no passwords.
Can a grandparent or nanny see the log without being able to change it?
Yes. Each caregiver is invited as someone who can log entries or as someone who can only view the day.
How fast does the other phone update?
Within seconds on a normal connection, widgets included. A phone that was offline catches up when it is back.
